Regarding Arcane Archer, I want to go on the record and say “you’re wrong” about how complicated it is. At the end of the day, when appropriate you use Grasping Arrow unless you’re targeting multiple creatures in a 10’radius, in which case you use Bursting Arrow. Only on rare occasions would you use something else, like Banishing Arrow or Seeking Arrow to disrupt a caster’s concentration or find a hidden foe.
Also, I’m sure you know by now that the XGE’s errata clarifies that Arcane Shot does not require a magic arrow.
Thanks for sharing your opinion. “Complicated” is a relative term, so what is complicated for one person might not be for another. Working with a lot of new players over the years, I am very confident in saying that having so many choices to make in character creation, and then having all those options available each time you use it, is complicated. It may not be “overly complicated,” but it definitely falls into the complicated category.
