Surely the OGL is both good for WOTC and good for the hobby (the players). It’s free money for WOTC on products they don’t have to spend time and effort on. WOTC could never publish something like “An Elf and an Orc had a little baby” but they’re making money from it because it’s been at the top of DMsGuild for ages now. And as a DM being able to draw on the material on DMsGuild and not have to rely on WOTC published materials to flesh out my game is a huge benefit personally. My players loved Ancestral Weapons, and some of the alternative Towers of Ythyrn in Rime of the Frostmaiden that I used. That’s just a few examples, and even though it’s just anecdote not data, I don’t see an argument to counter that.
Something’s wrong with the 9/22 podcast that showed up in my podcatcher feed. It’s definitely NOT the version that plays on the site here. Instead it’s a repeat covering the Dragonlance UA and updating old adventures series from several months ago.
