After a bit of searching it looks like the encumbrance episode no longer exists? I enjoyed the episode, it explained why some of my early misguided efforts in having didn’t pan out.
I rather like The Black Hack’s equipment system. Items with limited use have a usage die associated with them. After using the item, you roll the usage die, and if the result is a 1 or 2, the next smallest die then becomes the item’s usage die. You continue this until you reach a d4, and once you roll a 1 or 2 on the d4, the item has been completely used up.
Matt — the descending die system for equipment decay is really smart. I think it is a very portable idea and a great way to both abstract equipment usage and to make it somewhat unpredictable.
